My favourite concept of his is FLOW which is a tool that helps guide us through our own thinking process and sketch an outline of the logic or argument that we use to construct our essay and even AQ. Every lesson, we have an exercise where we put our concepts to use.
This is when we implement FLOW by mapping out the writer’s argument-building process. This has greatly helped me in visualising how concrete arguments are formed. “I joined the tuition 2-3 months before A levels (and just 2-4 weeks before prelims) mainly because I was getting Cs for comprehension and Bs for essays. If one asks me what my biggest takeaway was, it would be the clear systematic way in which I was taught to approach the comprehension paper, and I saw my grade for paper 2 (prelims) dramatically increased by about 10 marks from the previous average marks I get.
The essay notes were really valuable as well. There were so many examples I could use for many different essay questions and they have set a standard that I could work towards. Furthermore, we would go through an essay a week where we would analyse the logic behind each paragraph, and that really added clarity to my writing. Overall, it was a valuable experience and considering how much I improved in a short period of time it’s really worth it (that being said, if you think you need help, please just seek help asap)”

“I had joined Ms Ho at Byron Tutorial Centre in late July of 2020. At that time, I had never once scored more than a pass for GP and the A levels were less than 3 months away. However, even in the dire situation that I was in, Ms Ho still believed in me and my abilities to excel in GP. Through the short span of 3 months, she patiently taught me so many helpful examination skills from time management to answering techniques. “I first joined Mr Wong’s General Paper tuition after attaining an egregious E grade for my General Paper (GP) at Dunman High School (DHS). Being in the Integrated Programme (IP), I was more comfortable with topics like Science & Technology and the Environment.
